Celebration welcomes back its signature Spring Art Festaival

Eclectic Mix of Original Art – Live Music – 100 Top Local & National ArtistsCelebration Art Festival

Bold and vibrant paintings, contemporary and whimsical art, life-size sculptures, photography and jewelry are among the many works of art that will be featured along the quaint brick-lined streets of Celebration Town Center when the city’s annual art festival returns April 21 -22, 2012.  Market Street will be transformed into a gallery style outdoor art extravaganza complete with 100 of the finest artists from thirty different states.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Festival promoter Howard Alan Events, producer of many award-winning juried art fairs throughout the country and the founder of the original Celebration art show, is thrilled to return with this premier art affair.  “We are very excited to return to Celebration with a top rate show and the finest artists in the country,” says Howard Alan, founder of Howard Alan Events.

The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges, are hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America. “We have a very selective jury process and choose only the finest artists providing festival-goers with an extraordinary experience defined by the sounds, colors and drama of the works of art on display and for sale,” adds Alan.

The 10th Annual Celebration Art Festival makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.

All artists will be on site for the duration of the show, available to discuss their art and inspiration. “The art show is a great way to explore the work of many different artists in one setting,” says festival promoter Howard Alan.  “You have the opportunity to meet and connect with the artist before making a purchase, which makes the investment much more meaningful and personal.”

Howard Alan Events develops and produces some of the nation’s finest juried art shows in more than 40 venues each year, many are ranked in the top 100 art fairs in the country by Sunshine Artist magazine.  These shows, which attract locals and tourists alike, include the Downtown Aspen Art Festival (Aspen, CO), Beaver Creek Art Festival (Beaver Creek, CO), Chicago Tribune North Michigan Avenue Art Festival (Chicago, IL), and the Las Olas Art Fairs, (Fort Lauderdale, FL).

The Celebration Art Festival runs Saturday and Sunday, April 22 -23, 2012, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day and is located on Market Street in the heart of Celebration. Lion King comes to Orlando

No need to go to Broadway because “The Lion King” is coming to Orlando. Now, that’s a wonderful phrase! From April 17 until May 13, the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in Downtown Orlando hosts Disney’s “The Lion King,”a Tony Award-winning musical enjoyed by more than 60 million people around the world that tells the heartfelt story of how a young lion cub must face the reality of becoming king.

Listen to the Oscar-winning songs originally made famous by Elton John and Tim Rice as you marvel at the intricately designed costumes and one-of-a-kind choreography that incorporates animal movements with tribal dance. Zebras will trot, hyenas will prowl and giraffes will prance, all right beside your favorite characters like Simba and Pumbaa in a colorful African landscape that remarkably comes to life on stage.  Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

If you are coming to Orlando after the show leaves town, you can still see some “big-as-Broadway” Lion King entertainment year-round at the Festival of the Lion King. This 30-minute show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Park combines the famous Lion King tale with puppetry, acrobatics, singing and dancing…and you’re encouraged to be part of the action.
